This is more like an advice for seniors and graduate students.
How blogging twice a week can change your life?

1. Impress me: Your own website/blog like www.yourname.com can impress the potential employer.
2. Show your expertise: Blogging will show your expertise, that you are a professional in something. For example if you are finance major, and blogging about stocks or banks – you will have a lot more chance in finding a job than a crowd of generic candidates.
3. Get a knowledge: Believe it or not, by blogging about something, you will expand your knowledge in that particular subject. Because you might want to write only interesting things in your blog, to keep the readers coming.
4. Connections: Once you will start blogging about something, you will find other bloggers who share your passion, and quickly will be connected to pros in your field. Maybe you will find friends, maybe partners, maybe employers. Maybe even your love :)
5. Be a Star! Once you will be an expert in what you do, you will become a local star first, and then nationwide or even an internationally known. Reputation is very important these days.
6. Find your way: Sometimes you are not sure what you want to do in your life. Haven’t decided? Start blogging. If you will be bored about the subject, you can easily change it. And again, until you find your passion. Is it better than studying 4 years in college, working couple years and finding out that you don’t even like it? Right?
7. Discipline: Blogging twice a week, or twice a day will become a habit, and eventually will keep you disciplined. And that will help you in your professional life a lot.

So now, if you decided that you want to start blogging, and impress future employers, all you have to do, is to write me an email at vali@zairov.com, and for $100 a year, I’ll setup your domain name, hosting and your blog with any design you want. There is a lot to choose from!

If you want to do it yourself, just follow my simple instructions on setting up your own blog. But probably only hosting will cost you about $150, not mentioning domain name and programmer you have to hire to setup your blog.

Best of luck!
